The Silver Lake Neutra Tour is a 60-minute walking tour that examines 10 houses designed by architect Richard Neutra in the Silver Lake neighborhood of Los Angeles. On this LA walking tour, guests view and learn about Richard Neutra's most significant Los Angeles architecture, including the home that Neutra built and lived in himself for nearly forty years, following his schism with Rudolph Schindler and departure from the Kings Road House: the VDL Research House. Interior tours of the VDL Research House are available only on Saturdays for an additional $10. 

The highlight of this architecture tour in LA is a walking tour of the Colony of Neutra Houses in Silver Lake. Also known as Neutra Village, this concentration of architecturally significant houses is located just off the Silver Lake Reservoir and demonstrates the varied, yet cohesive modern style of Neutra in his mature career. The Neutra Colony features the largest concentration of Richard Neutra's architecture in the world, and as such, earns the title of architectural museum. 

The Silver Lake Neutra Tour is a great tour to take in conjunction with the Silver Lake Schindler Tour, as the history of the two architects is intertwined. Schindler and Neutra studied together in Vienna, Austria in the early 20th century and both aspired to work for Frank Lloyd Wright in the United States. Eventually, both architects made their way to Los Angeles, where they lived and worked together in Schindler's Kings Road House in West Hollywood. The Silver Lake Schindler Tour is available every Saturday at 12:00pm, immediately following the Silver Lake Neutra Tour.

The Silver Lake Neutra Tour is available every Saturday at 10:30am. Reservations are required.
